Fascinating special guest on final day of courses

French cutman and coach Laurent Boucher
A day before all participants will take the exams, famous French cutman and coach Mr. Laurent Boucher gave the final theoretical course of the AOB/APB/WSB Coaches Instructors Workshop.
Mr. Boucher explained the role of the cutman in professional boxing, detailed the different types of injuries in boxing and how he works on these injuries before showing how professional bandages should be done. This morning session ended with each participant trying to wrap a hand of another participant.
The practical session in the afternoon was then focused on strength. Each participant had to demonstrate his capabilities by teaching different strength related exercises to a group of coaches. The session was evaluated by instructors Adam Kusior, Chairman of the AIBA Coaches Commission, Thomas Coulter, a former Olympic Head Coach of Team USA and AIBA Road to London II Head Coach, as well as Rob McCracken, Great Britain Performance Director.
"These courses have included all aspects of the training a boxing coach should know, all the topics were covered", stated Coulter. "All particpants have very enjoyed and benefited from both lectures and practical work".
Wednesday 23 January will mark the final day of this intensive workshop with all participating coaches taking exams in the morning and enjoying the graduation ceremony in the evening, presided by Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, AIBA President.
