36coaches become Instructors as AIBA President visits Assisi

Paying a visit to the AOB/APB/WSB Coaches Instructors Workshop participants in Assisi (Italy), Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) met today Mr. Alberto Brasca, new President of the Italian Boxing Federation (Federazione Pugilistica Italiana, FPI).
This very fruitful meeting was also attended by Mr. Franco Falcinelli, AIBA Vice President, EUBC President and former FPI President and Mr. Alberto Tappa, Secretary General of the FPI.
A wide range of topics were discussed, in particular how to integrate AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) in the Italian dual system. After this meeting ended on some very promising comments on the future of AIBA Open Boxing (AOB), World Series of Boxing (WSB) and APB in Italy, Dr Wu and Mr. Brasca visited the impressive National training facilities.
In the meantime, the participants of the AOB/APB/WSB Coaches Instructors Workshop passed a three hour written exam in the morning which included questions on the AIBA coaches Manual and the APB coaches Manual, as well as all other topics discussed during the Workshop.
With all 36 coaches succesfully passing this test, the graduation ceremony scheduled in the evening was hosted in a joyful atmosphere.
Presided by Dr Wu, the event was introduced by a speech from Instructor Adam Kusior, Chairman of the AIBA Coaches Commission, who thanked all participants for their hard work over the past days. AIBA Vice President and EUBC President, Mr. Franco Falcinelli followed by sharing his pleasure of having seen this workshop being hosted in the beautiful city of Assisi and wishing all participants the very best of luck for their instructors work.
Mr. Brasca then took the stand before AIBA President. Dr Wu reminded all attendees that they would be part of the biggest revolution in the sport of boxing with APB being launched in just a few monthes' time. Before Cuban coach Mr. Alcide Sagarra Caron paid tribute to the late Mr. Jorge Gúzman Socarras. All attendees then repected one minute of silence.
Ending the ceremony before everybody was invited for dinner by AIBA President, all 36 coaches finally received their diplomas, symbol of a week of hard work and dedication.
