"Pivi"  Romero walks out to fight

Only got a minute to get your boxing fix today? We have the answer in this snappy little interview. We put our fans' questions to Mexican boxing hero Pablo "Pivi" Romero.

Ready. Set. Go!

Not many people may know you are seriously into horse riding where did you get your passion for that from?
My passion for horses came from my father and the rest of my family. We are humble village people; people that still ride horses to get from one place to another. So along with boxing my other sport is horsemanship, I love them both!

How seriously do you take it as a sport?
I'm a big fan of horse riding - it's the Mexican National Sport and I'm looking forward to competing in it in the future.

What is your favourite part of boxing training?
I love strength and conditioning sessions. That is the part when you can focus on developing a good body shape and get an athletic look.

Now that you are with APB, will you quit the World Series of Boxing (WSB)?
I believe that with proper planning in both my training and fighting schedule I can definitely fight in both competitions.

Have you enjoyed your experience in the WSB?
The WSB has been one of the best experiences in my life. It gives me the chance to do two of the things I love most. Boxing the best fighters in the world and travelling. It is an amazing and an unforgettable experience. Every country we have visited so far has been very warm and welcoming to us.

What was the main reason for you to decide to continue your career in APB?
I decided to join APB for the opportunity to continue developing. To be a better boxer, you need to be fighting constantly, unfortunately in Mexico we don't have so many opportunities to do that, plus this is the launch pad for my effort to qualify for the next Olympic Games.

What do you consider the biggest achievement in your life so far?
My best achievement is the fact that I enjoy the satisfaction I get from boxing and I'm lucky enough to be close to my family. Even though I'm competing at a high level I am still in the village and wake up every day with my mind and goals set.
